What is engineered hardwood flooring?

For many reasons, homeowners want to use alternatives to traditional wood flooring.  Engineered hardwood is a product with a core of wood with a top layer of veneer and an environmentally safe adhesive to secure them together.

What are the benefits of using an engineered product?

Engineered hardwood flooring is more versatile than traditional hardwood flooring. Giving the look and feel of traditional wood in an area that is more prone to moisture and humidity is a great example. Kitchens and bathrooms are the first space that comes to mind, but also basements and laundry rooms that have a higher potential to come in contact with water.

What is the difference between SPC and WPC?

When looking at flooring there are options that you probably have not considered, here is a basic overview of the two types of vinyl in flooring:

SPC – more affordable, more dense and does not retain warmth, slightly more durable than WPC, great for kitchens, bathrooms and commercial spaces and 100% waterproof.

WPC – more affordable than real stone or wood, but more expensive than SPC, less dense so it will retain some warmth, better for residential homes, slightly less durable than SPC and 100% waterproof as well.
